About Us

In 1948, families locked their front doors and took the keys with them. Leaving was supposed to last two weeks.

Some of those keys are still held. They passed to children born somewhere else, and became miftah al-awda (مفتاح العودة), the key of return. An object that outlived the house it opened.

In order to preserve this history, we put it on a shirt. That is our objective.

Every design starts with a symbol that already carries meaning. The Jaffa orange, which was Palestine's name in every port it reached. The olive tree, older than the borders drawn around it. The watermelon, whose colours are the flag's. The poppy, the cactus and the olive flower, taken from botanical art catalogued in 1876.

None of them need explaining to the people who wear them.
