"Opuntia ficus indica (الصبّار), commonly known as the prickly pear in Palestine, is a cactus plant recognized for its flat green pads and seasonal yellow flowers. Its Arabic name, sabr, also means patience, a reflection of the plant's ability to withstand long periods of drought and hardship. Its presence across the landscape has come to represent endurance, rootedness, and quiet strength."
